We had the pleasure of doing a photo booth rental at a birthday party, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic School, in Burnaby.
The event took place in the massive gymnasium of the school. The hosts did an amazing job with setting up the venue, with amazing decor, and a well thought out layout.
Our selfie station setup included a vibrant, green, hedge photo booth backdrop, additional lighting to compensate for the low light environment, and our awesome props! The hedge backdrop provided a realistic look, and a gorgeous contrast and pop in all of the photos. Our props included instruments, text props, hats, and glasses.
This was an 18th birthday party, known in Filipino culture as a Debut. When I went in to set up the photo booth, the birthday girl and her friends were rehearsing a dance that they would be performing in front of their family and friends to celebrate the occasion.

For a group of graduates about to embark on different paths, it’s a perfect way to capture some of their last moments together. As friendships shift and people go their separate ways, these photos become cherished keepsakes, preserving the bond shared during this milestone event. The photo booth not only brings joy and laughter but also gives everyone a tangible reminder of their time together, making the celebration unforgettable.
The setup was in a low light environment and highlighted the importance of additional lighting in photo booth setups.
Despite the low lighting for the setup, we were able to capture some amazing photos! The high-powered ring light on the selfie station, combined with additional lighting, illuminated the guests, providing colourful and vibrant photos.
